Balsdon Continues Guelph Dominance
Greg Balsdon, and his Kingston team of Adam Spencer, Don Bowser and Jason Boyce of the Looney Curling Club won the Guelph Curling Classic for the third consecutive year, this time taking down Mike Anderson of Waterloo by a score of 9-6.
After Anderson opened with a three in the first end, Balsdon kicked it into gear, scoring a single in the second, and adding one in the third, two in the fourth and another steal of two in the fifth end to extend his lead to 6-3. Anderson, and his team of Bill Francis, Paul Arkilander and Matt Mapletoft were unable to match Baldson the rest of the way, and shook hands after being run out of rocks in the 10th end. more...
